In this introductory course, students will learn the basics of handgun safety, including how to safely clear (unload) a semi-automatic pistol. The course is rounded out by putting those basics into practice in the classroom and on the shooting range.

This course teaches:

  • Handgun basics and shooting fundamentals

  • Understanding how to avoid conflict and awareness of your surroundings

  • The psychology of violent encounters

  • The legal aspects of using deadly force (including knowing what to do in the aftermath)

  • Includes a gear and gadget guide that can help students concealed carry more effectively.

You will walk away from this class equipped with the knowledge and confidence you need to own and carry a concealed firearm.

This course also includes time on the live fire range.

Required Gear for the course:


Handgun of a common caliber that the operator can easily control
50 rounds of ammo per person
A case for your handgun
Minimum of 1-2 magazines per handgun
Safety glasses and hearing protection (we can provide complimentary if needed)
Weather-appropriate attire (NO open-toed shoes. -- Tennis shoes or hiking shoes are recommended, they may get dirty. NO Sleeveless shirts or low cut shirts. Hats are also recommended for your safety)
Students will bring a light lunch or snack and something to drink (water will be provided)
