Holsters
Often overlooked, the holster can make or break a concealment system. Even a large, full-size, semi-auto handgun can be carried concealed when matched with the right holster. But, all too often, new shooters overlook this piece of kit and opt to save a few bucks by buying whatever they can get their new gun to fit in. This is a huge mistake that can cost you your life!
Here are a few of our recommendations.
#1 Bravo Concealment Holster -
Bravo Concealment Holsters are our go to holsters for most any application. Their balance of quality, availability, price and comfort make them an easy pick. I personally have over two dozen holsters from Bravo Concealment for most all of my carry guns. In almost every case, I have multiple holsters for each gun to fit a variety of carry needs. Check out their website for some amazing promotional offers.
#2 Crossbreed Holster Supertuck Deluxe -
When it comes to comfort, Crossbreed Holsters leads the way. This hybrid holster design is available for almost any handgun you could image and makes carrying for long periods of time much more convenient. Made with an index shell mounted to a leather backer this holster is a hybrid of two worlds, Kydex and Leather! The leather backer is the key to this holsters comfort. By putting the softer leather between your firearm and your body, those uncomfortable edges and pressure points the firearm creates are reduced. This holster is also, as the name suggests, tuckable giving it an exceptional level of concealment.
#3 Safariland ALS Equipped Holster -
Sometimes the holster doesn’t need to be quite as covert and concealable. In fact, depending on the application, retention and ease of access take priority over stealth. In those cases, Safariland leads the pack with some of the best “duty-style” holsters on the market. Often the go-to holster for law enforcement and elite military units, Safariland holsters have proven themselves time and time again to be rugged, durable and efficient. I personally use several Safariland holsters equipped with the ALS (Auto Locking System) retention system for competition and training. The ALS acts as an additional level of retention to ensure the firearm doesn’t leave the holster except when called upon by the user. These are not cheap holsters by any means, but sometimes quality comes at a price, and Safariland is exceptional in that department.
